Meals for 9/30/09

Hello everyone! I can't believe it is the last day of September..and boy can I feel it in the air. Just got back from taking Riley outside to do some business and I could feel the crisp cold air blow against my face...brrrrr! I know it is going to get alot worse as our first winter hits here in Boston. But it will be another season that we experience for the first time...I am excited to see it. I got up this morning and decided to try out the exercise room here in the apartment...I don't know why in the heck I haven't used it before..It is VERY nice! Each treadmill and elliptical machines have a TV attached to it so that helps the time go by..I did 30 minutes at 2.5 mph at 1% incline...was sweating like a pig by the time I was done! Behind the treadmills and elliptical machine is a weight machine and against the far wall is free weights...they even have an area behind more private to do stretches and use the exercise ball...:)

I decided to try something I read about on Hungry Girl. She suggested using the laughing cow light wedges as cream cheese. So I had the sandwich thins and used the laughing cow wedges and it was JUST like cream cheese but actually tasted better:) Here is the picture:

2 Laughing Cow wedges = 1.5 points
Total points for Breakfast = 2.5 points

Next time I will just use one wedge...as I only used 1 1/4 of the wedges and ate the rest plain...which is good but I like it better on something...I am going to have a similar lunch to yesterday as I have alot of pork left from Sunday's dinner...and pork sandwiches taste alot like Turkey sandwiches...YUM! :) Catch ya later!

I'm back y'all...:) I hope you had a wonderful afternoon!:) I spent it doing some laundry and watching a new TV series On Demand...called The Good Wife. It was really good! As I said earlier I was going to have a lunch similar to yesterday except I didn't have the steamed veggies with it. I did have a babybel cheese instead. Here it is:

I had another apple and peanut butter for my afternoon snack...I need to eat the apples we picked before they go bad...I think tomorrow I might try making some applesauce:) Here it is:)

For dinner we had soft taco's. I have been using my husbands hot sauce the last few times and really have come to like it:) And I heard on the Dr. Oz show that it is supposed to speed up your metabolism...so we will see:) Here is what we had...the only difference is I used my Joseph's Tortilla's instead of the Carb Balance flour tortilla saving me 1.5 points...:) Sorry I didn't get a picture...

Meals for 9/29/09

Hello friends! Another busy morning here...got up and went to the dentist to have the stitches taken out of my gums...and MAN does it feel better!! He said I can start brushing very lightly...he said it looked very good and I will go back in 6 weeks to have the crown done...I will be so happy to have this all done!! Then I went to Costco to see if they still had the Veggie Crunchers and thank goodness they did! I bought a couple more of them...as they are bad about carrying something for a brief time and then when I go back they are gone. I also got some apple chips...and some more chicken. The main reason I went was to get toilet paper and guess what I forgot?! Oh well...then I went and paid rent at the storage place and went grocery shopping for a few things...and picked up a RX for Kevin. I scheduled a flu shot for Friday...they were too busy to do it right away and had to make an appointment...

Since I was on the go this morning I just had a WW Berry yogurt for breakfast...which held me over a little but by the time I got home I was starving!

I absolutely LOVED the Lemon Torte Parfait! The Berry and Lemon are so far my favorites...which surprises me because I love chocolate...but maybe because it is more of a yogurt chocolate and not pudding...who knows...:) I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I'm back:) I had a nice relaxing afternoon after such a busy morning:) For dinner I decided to have a Smart ones Dinner...it was very good! I haven't had a pasta dinner and not like it...:) Here is what I had:

Meals for 9/28/09

Hello Everyone...today was a busy day so far...over the weekend I let things go a little bit so I had alot of make up laundry and housework to get done...so that is why I am a little later posting...as you can see from my previous post I gained .4 pounds...not happy about it but I need to accept it and move on and keep on plan...here is my breakfast...in case you haven't figured it out its my favorite breakfast!

Sandwich Thins = 1 point
Reduced Fat Peanut Butter = 2 points
Total points for Breakfast = 3 points

For lunch I decided to have my wrap that I had last Friday and use the left over chicken from Boston Market..no skin just the meat and baby carrots. Here it is:


BBQ Ranch Chicken Wrap = 6 points
Baby Carrots = 0 points
Total Points for Lunch = 6 points

Afternoon Snack:

Freshly picked Apple = 1 point
Reduced Fat Peanut Butter = 2 points
Total points for Snack = 3 points

For dinner I am making Chicken Tetrazzini from a Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet cookbook. It is really yummy and its only 5 points for a 1 1/4 cup serving! Check back later for more details and pictures...

Live and Learn....


Well...I learned the hard way that even if you stick to your points you can gain...it all depends on what you use your points for...We ate out a little too much this weekend...even though for the most part it wasn't bad eating (except for Wendy's) but it was just too much. Yesterday we had the Boston Market which wasn't too bad...the chicken without the skin was only 4 points, the mashed potatoes and gravy was 4.5 points (small portion), corn was 4 points and the cornbread was 4 points...but I think that in combination with a big dinner last night was just a little too much...I didn't gain very much but a gain is the wrong direction I want to take...

Also my TOM (time of month) will be arriving in a few weeks and I tend to hold water and get that bloated yucky feeling up to 2 weeks before it starts...and I only have one every three months so it makes it worse...ok...enough about that...a bit of TMI for most people..sorry guys!

I got on the scale this morning and gained .4 pounds...I know it doesn't sound like much...but I was hoping with the exercise I did last week I could have dropped a little...but as I said...Live and Learn!

I had SOOOOO much fun on Saturday apple picking with our friends Kristen and her husband Kevin. If you want to see pictures and read about our day check out my other blog...it was so awesome to make some new friends here in the area and I know we will be friends for years to come!:)

Now that I have had my own pity party I will drop it and get back on track! I have lots of housework to do today so that will keep me moving!:) I will post later on my meals:)

Meals for 9/27/09

Hello everyone...sorry for the late post again...the weekends get so busy I just don't get the chance to blog until the evening anymore...Today we got up and ran some errands...Kevin needed to pick up his dry cleaning and I needed to go to a few places...I had my sandwich thins with some apple butter that I bought yesterday at the Brooksby Farm...it was ok...I think they put a little too much spices in it and it took away from the apple taste...and it looks like BBQ sauce...LOL Here is a picture:

On the way home we stopped and picked up a nice healthy lunch...one place they used to have in Washington that we loved was Boston Market. We have one pretty close to our apartment. I need to go grocery shopping and we didn't have any bread at home and we were too tired to do it today...and besides our Stop and Shop is a nightmare on Sunday's...so I go on Monday mornings and it is so much better!! Anyway I got the 1/4 chicken (only ate half now and will save the rest of the meat for some wraps this week for lunch:) mashed potatoes and gravy(my guilty treat) and some corn and a thing of cornbread. Keep in mind I did look all this up on WW and tracked the points and it all came to 15.5 points...I didn't eat the skin on the chicken so that helped alot! I didn't take a picture...sorry:(

For dinner I made a pork roast, applesauce, mashed potatoes and steamed zucchini. I am hoping that I don't pay on the scale tomorrow for all the mashed potatoes..but I only had one serving tonight and they only give you a small portion for lunch...here are some picture of dinner:)

Well I went over by one...but I still have over 27 flex points I didn't use for the week...so we will see what happens tomorrow...I am not feeling good about weigh in this week...been feeling a little bloated and blah...even with the exercise I am not sure if I will drop much. We shall see:)

Meals for 9/26/09

Hello everyone...sorry for the late post. Today was a busy and fun day...to see what we did and the pictures check out my other blog...we went apple picking with some good friends. I got up this morning and didn't eat breakfast...I know bad bad bad!! But I was excited and just wasn't in the mood to eat...for lunch I had a salad with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini with a side of blue cheese dressing that I just dipped my fork into so I barely used any dressing. I had two rolls with lunch...so I counted that as 7 total points as I only ate half the salad...:)

For dinner we got home and I didn't have anything planned for dinner..which is dangerous because that means we end up doing things we shouldn't...we stopped at Wendy's and got some dinner...but I counted every point and ended up using a few of my flex points...but I still have 28.5 left and it resets on Monday...so that is good:)

I will do much better tomorrow...its been a fun and exhausting day...if you haven't been apple picking before do it...it is so much fun and now I have to figure out what I want to do with these apples!:) Have a great day everyone!!

Meals for 9/25/09

Hello everyone...its been a busy morning...I got up early this morning and went to Hannaford to pick up some bread and some Zone bars...and then tried out a Market that I saw an ad for thinking it might be a farmers type market with lots of produce. It was called Roxies. It was nice but I was a little disappointed in the amount of produce...they had really good prices on meat..I got a 2 1/2 pound pork roast for dinner on Sunday for $5.50....so I got some potatoes and zucchini to go with it:)

Then I stopped on the way home at the Wollaston Beach and walked 1.2 miles on the boardwalk...it was super windy but it was such a beautiful day! I am going to blog about it on my other blog so feel free to check it out:)

For breakfast this morning I just grabbed a Cashew Cookie Lara Bar. I didn't realize it was 5 points until after I ate it...oh well it gave me energy...

Hello friends!! While at Roxies I bought some Tortilla's that are super high in fiber and has flax, wheat and oats...it was actually REALLY good and they are 1 point! I haven't really made my own wraps before but I decided to come up with a yummy wrap...I remember having a BBQ ranch salad at a restaurant a while back and really loved the taste of the dressing so I bought some Fat Free Ranch dressing and some BBQ sauce and made my own sauce for the wrap. I took 1 Tbsp BBQ sauce (1/2 of the serving) and 2 Tbsp of the FF ranch dressing and mixed it up...spread about a tablespoon of this sauce on the tortilla, added some shredded carrots, 1 serving of the chicken strips and about 3 Tbsp of reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese...BAM! It was the best wrap I have had in a long time! And according to the recipe builder on WW it was all only 6 points! And it really filled me up! Here is a picture of it open and then closed with my side of baby carrots. Topped it all off with a Berry Parfait and it was a very yummy lunch!!

Your probably wondering why I am eating low points today...well my husband and I are going to go out to dinner tonight...we haven't been out to eat for a while and thought it would be nice to get out of the house...and we have to take his suits to be dry cleaned:) I have 17 points left for the day and 34.5 flex points left over...don't get me wrong..I am going to be good and with the exercise I did this morning I think I deserve a night out with my hubby:) Catch me later and see what I had...:)

Well....we ended up going to LaPaloma Mexican Restaurant. We were both craving it since we haven't been there in a while. I am not sure how many points to count my dinner at so I am just going to count the remaining 17 for the day on my dinner...I had Chicken over onions, green peppers and rice and 2 tortilla's...I didn't eat much of the rice but I ate both tortillas. It was very good and I am very happy now that I exercised so much this morning...the nice thing is I left satisfied but not stuffed and uncomfortable!

Meals for 9/24/09

Hello friends...sorry I am so late with my post...its been a busy morning! Riley and I decided to take a nice walk to a park that is over the bridge from my apartment. I haven't done this walk before but it was fun to go and explore. It was a nice walk...you can read about it on my other blog where I go into more detail and I posted a collage of pictures I took..you can click on the collage to see the pictures full size if you would like:)

For breakfast I just had some sandwich thins with reduced fat peanut butter...I was also planning on having a banana but I didn't...that is when I got all excited about getting out for the walk...so I will be eating a nice lunch...her is a picture of breakfast:

Hello everyone...after recovering from our walk Riley and I spent the afternoon relaxing and doing a little cleaning and catching up on all of your blogs...I have followed so many now it is hard to keep up! :) I made the mistake of not planning my day before hand and ended up with 16 points for the rest of the day...and I don't have anything that I could really eat that was high in points...so this is what I had for dinner:

Meals for 9/23/09

Good Morning and happy Wednesday!! It is a cloudy and dreary day here in Boston...but as long as it is gone by Saturday I don't care:) I am doing something very fun on Saturday but you will all have to wait to find out when I blog about it...:) This morning I woke up and watched the Dr. Oz show...I just love this show! He really gets you thinking about your health and how things affect you. Today he was talking to a Cowboy that eats nothing but meat in all of his meals and they did a scan on him and found that he had 97% more plaque in his heart than all other people. He is going to work with him and have him detox from meat and eat better and reverse this problem...the guy was such a character! I can't wait to see how it comes out after 28 days!

This morning I had a scrambled Egg and egg white..instead of using 4 points by using one whole egg and one egg white I saved 2 points! I also added a wedge of the laughing cow cheese wedge and it really gave it some good flavor. I also had a sandwich thin with some strawberry jam. Here is a picture:

Hello friends:) Spent the morning doing laundry and cleaning up around the apartment..listening to the workers putting in new carpet out in the hallway...which is nice because they had a light golden colored carpet that wasn't bad but some of the dogs on this floor have accidents every once and a while and it leaves stains...and it is such a heavy traffic area that it gets dirty alot...so this looks alot better...:) For lunch I felt like some soup....I am loving the progresso soups...especially the pot roast one...because I love potatoes, carrots and peas...here is what I had:

I'm back....very tired tonight for some reason. I am watching the show "The Office"...never really watched it before so we just started the other night when the changed our show lineup...and its really funny! For an afternoon snack I had my Vita Brownie...YUM! I just love this stuff!! Here it is...:

For dinner I made Manwiches. Its another one of Kevin's favorite meals. I put it through the WW recipe builder and it came out to 6 points per serving. Here are the pictures...:

Meals for 9/22/09

Good Morning everyone...got up this morning feeling pretty good...feeling a little more energy these days...which is nice:) Headed out to run some errands and decided that I needed to get my hair cut....I usually have my hair in a bob style...but this time she did something a little different..to see before and after pics check out my other blog...

For breakfast I wanted something quick and easy so I had my sandwich thins toasted with some reduced fat peanut butter...here is a picture of it:

Once I got home from getting my hair cut I was really hungry...while at the Salon there was alot of talk about where they wanted to get lunch from. They decided on China Jade...which has the BEST beef and broccoli in the world!! So by the time I let there I was salivating and REALLY wanting some...I drive right by there so I was thinking...hmmmmm it couldn't hurt could it...? But then I had to stop and remember that even though it is beef and broccoli it is very fatty beef and that is why its so good..and the sauce is fattening...and it comes with like 3 cups of rice...so I was good and said NO:):):) I also didn't want to use half or more of my extra points so early in the week! I came home and had a Smart Ones Meal, Berry Parfait and some watermelon...and felt 100 times better eating that:) Here are the pictures:)

Hello all my blogger buddies!:) I had a bit if a hard time this afternoon...for some reason all I wanted to do was snack...sometimes I just get the munchies and just want to eat....I think today was because I was a little bored....so I got up and did some things around the house...that helped some. I planned out my meals this morning and I noticed I had more down for snacks than meals...LOL Maybe that is why I was so hungry...I should concentrate on making the meals more filling and just have the 3 snacks...so for a late afternoon snack I had one of the Deep Chocolate VitaMuffin top and OMG it was sooooooo good! Very happy day...:)


Today was weigh in day...and I was very happy because I lost 2.4 pounds and Kevin lost 1.5 pounds!!! :) I knew that walking as much as we did on Saturday would pay off for us! I am very motivated and ready for a new week!:) Also if you notice on the tracker I am under 100 pounds left to lose! :) I think I will reward myself with a nice haircut!:) Have a great day everyone!!

Meals for 9/21/09

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday! Slept like a rock last night...got up this morning and had to run to the grocery store for a few things. I picked up some of the Yoplait Parfaits that TJ talked about in her blog and also some of the Smart ones mini pizzas...thought I would try them for lunch today. I was also able to find the Deep chocolate Vita Top Muffins...and some more of my Oroweat thins. I think I found that grocery shopping is best done first thing Monday morning..it was very different today:) For breakfast I toasted a sandwich thin and put peanut butter on it and had a banana...here is a picture of the sandwich thins w/peanut butter...didn't take a picture of the banana...but I am sure you all know what a banana looks like...LOL:

Yesterday while at Costco I saw something that I had read about on a blog somewhere...sorry I don't remember which blog...they are called Veggie Crunchers. It is vacuum dried veggies (sweet potatoes, Squash, Carrots, Taro and Green Beans). I had them today for a mid morning snack. They are pretty good. It is really good for the crunch and you can really taste the flavors of the vegetables. I kind of wish they just had carrot chips because they are my favorite ones. Here is a picture of what they look like and what the bag looks like..give them a try...1/2 a cup is 3 points:

The more I ate the more I liked it...it is weird how sometimes you can try something and think "eeeh" but then when you keep eating it you start liking it more and more. Give it a try..you never know you could love it! :) Come back for lunch!

I think I might have found one to apply for so I am excited about that...and it is only 15 min drive away...I didn't want to do the subway if I didn't have to. So wish me luck! For lunch I had the Smart Ones Mini Pizza's and the Chocolate & Raspberry Parfait...they were both really good! Then for an afternoon snack I had some sliced apples I got from Costco...but I only ate half the bag because there were alot in one bag. Here are the pictures...

For dinner I made one of my husbands favorite meals....Mexican Casserole:) It is pretty easy to make and it is something we always have a little leftover for tomorrow nights meal:) Here is a couple pictures...


Mexican Casserole = 11 points per serving (I have it as 4 servings but it could probably be 6)
Milk = 2 points
Total points for Dinner = 13 points

Dessert: Skinny Cow Chocolate Ice cream cone = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS USED FOR THE DAY = 31!
