Back on track!

Hello everyone!! I am so happy to be back and it was a great day!! I ate good foods and stayed away from the bucket of candy that someone at work puts out by the printer everyday...not just any candy but the best kind...Hershey's chocolate, milky ways, kit kats and M&M's...it took alot to keep me away!! In fact I am sure that I am going through sugar withdrawal! The last month since starting there I had been eating the candy...so that plus all the other eating that I did I ended up gaining 4.6 pounds...which really isn't that bad with the holidays and everything.

Here is what I ate today:

Breakfast - Apples & Cinnamon Oatmeal and a Banana

For Lunch - Ham Sandwich, baby carrots, pizza pasta salad (made out of the same cookbook that I made dinner out of) and babybel light cheese. Sorry didn't take pictures...I am a little out of practice with this taking pictures stuff!

For dinner: Meatless Chili Mac

This was a new dinner I tried out of the Taste of Home's Comfort Food Diet Cookbook. It was really good! I ran the numbers and it is only 4 WW points for 1 1/4 cup serving! I did add a little low fat shredded cheese so that will ad a couple more points. I thought I would share the recipe:

1 large onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups water
1 1/2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (I used dreamfields as it is LOW carb pasta)
1 can (15.5 oz) mild chili beans, undrained
1 can (15.5 oz) great northern beans, rinsed and drained (I didn't have any so I used kidney beans instead)
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
4 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 cup fat free sour cream

In a large sauce pan or dutch oven, saute the onion, green pepper and garlic in oil until tender. Stir in the water, macaroni beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt and cumin. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Top each serving with 1 Tbsp sour cream.

8 servings = 1 1/4 cups serving size
Nutrition facts: 214 calories, 3 grams fat, 3 mg cholesterol, 857 mg sodium, 37 g carbs, 8 grams fiber, 10 g protein.

So all in all I had a great day with my eating and I am really excited to start losing again! Thank you all for your encouraging words! They really help me! Take care and see you tomorrow!

Here we go again....

Well...tomorrow is the day I get back in the swing of things...I am actually really excited! I loved the feeling of eating good and feeling less bloated and less tired...I made a nice dinner tonight. Ham, scalloped potatoes, yams and green beans...and we have enough ham to eat sandwiches all week for lunch.

I can tell you though I am REALLY not looking forward to getting on the scale tomorrow...I know that I have gained some weight back. I know that it may not be pretty but the good thing is I am starting to move in the right direction! I have lunches packed for tomorrow and I am watching Desperate Housewives and then I will be hitting the sack!

I am also trying something new tomorrow. I have always wanted to try hummus but was too chicken because it sounded gross. I bought some tomato & basil hummus to try with my baby carrots as a snack for tomorrow....we will see how it goes. I was also able to find the Light version of the babybel cheese that I love so much! We went to BJ's today and I got lots of things for lunches. Yogurt, fig newtons, baby carrots, baby cucumbers and some grape tomatoes...OH YEAH and I made a pasta salad from a Taste of Home Comfort food diet cookbook. It has grape tomatoes, turkey pepperoni, green onions and the sauce had parmesan cheese, rice wine vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cornstarch and water...I had a bite and it was so good but it wasn't quite chilled yet so it will probably be alot better when its super cold. The serving size is 1 cup. I will post the recipe later and the nutrition info later:)

Anyway so please wish me luck...I am really happy that I am getting back into things...now that my schedule has calmed down some. See you all tomorrow with the weigh in update....later friends!

Where did the time go??


Wow!! I can't believe its been so long since I posted!! December was a very busy and crazy month for me. With my new job and going to Seattle for the holidays...it was so nice to see my family and friends!! I have to say though I didn't really watch everything I ate like I should have. I haven't been on the scale since the end of November...I know bad girl!! I will be starting back up on Monday. I will start doing the following:

1. Tracking what I eat
2. Exercising at least 3 times a week to begin with
3. Take my lunch to work instead of buying lunch
4. Blog every day so that I keep myself accountable
5. Start catching up on my friends blogs and comment

We are going on a trip in June to Disneyworld and Kevin and I want to have a comfortable trip on the plane. The trip to Seattle was ok but only because the person by the window didn't show so we had the extra seat in between us. On the way home it was a full plane and it was the most uncomfortable 6 hours of my life! I had bruises on my hip from the arm of the seat:( So my goal will be to not have to ask for an extender belt the next time we fly!

So I am back folks...I am so sorry for being gone so long and I hope you will all continue to read my blog and comment as it REALLY does help me more than you will ever know!

Hi there my friends...

I hope all of your are having a wonderful holiday season so far! Things have been super hectic around here the last 2 weeks. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Starting this new job has made things really busy. By the time I get home I don't even want to think about getting online! But I know that I need to catch up on my blogs!

The more settled I get at my new job the better I am getting about my eating. At first I didn't take my lunch as much as I should and would eat cafe food but now I am taking my lunch with healthy snacks and drinking lots more water so I am getting back on track! :) I will be starting to do some live work next week instead of just reading so that is exciting:)

Just wanted to check in and let you all know I am still here. I will be catching up on your blogs soon...thank you so much for all your support and for coming back to read my blog...:)

Hello everyone...

Sorry I have been gone so long...its been crazy starting a new job and trying to keep up with housework and spending time with the hubby and puppy...and trying to keep up two blogs. I haven't been doing as good on the eating front...I don't know what is wrong with me. I just lost my motivation a bit. Don't worry I am not giving up...but I am just going to enjoy the holiday and then get back on track 100%. I am still watching what I am eating but I haven't been tracking like I should...and right now with the job and the holidays its just too hectic for me. I tend to eat when I am stressed so I figure I need to just chill out a little....so please forgive me if I am absent more often here...I promise it won't be long and I will be blogging more:) It is snowing here in Boston and they are saying we may get up to 6 inches!We shall see!

Weigh in Results...a day early!!

That's right...I am weighing in a day early...because I know that it will take about a week for me to work off what I ate today...I didn't do too bad but I enjoyed my Thanksgiving with some wonderful friends Kristen & Kevin and their family! I want to thank them for making our first Thanksgiving here such a good one!! With both of our families back in Seattle they were kind enough to take us in and feed us some good food!!

I am going to be making my own Turkey dinner tomorrow...so that way we will have lots of sandwich fixings and dinners for at least half of next week! Anyway...back to the reason for this post....I got on the scale today and.....

I lost .04 lbs again!

I will take that!! With all that I have eaten this week...not 100% good and I was still able to lose that is great!

I'm still here everyone!!

Hi!! This has been a busy crazy week...I have come to a decision. I know I normally list everything I eat every day, however now that things are getting a little more hectic in my life and I will be starting a new job on Monday I am still going to blog what I eat but I may not every day...and blog more about the challenges and victories of our new weigh of life...it is just too overwhelming to have to post every single day worth of meals with the job and other things I will have to catch up with when I get home. I won't have all day to blog anymore:( But I will have more to blog about too!:) Now that I will have a life outside of this apartment!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am going to enjoy the day and just watch my intake but not deprive myself of anything...I am spending it with my friends Kristen & Kevin and their family...and I am very excited! Then on Friday I am going to make my own Turkey and the fixings and have LOTS of leftovers for the week of lunches for my first week at my new job! I NEVER get tired of turkey sandwiches...and I am going to try some turkey wraps too...:)

Meals for 11/23/09

Hello everyone:) Its been a busy morning around here...got up and wanted to get out and grocery shop early to beat the crowds...well that didn't happen so much at the grocery store! I went to a Fruit market first..check out my other blog to see pictures of the place....and then went to the grocery store. Kevin and I were invited to our good friends Kristen & Kevin's parents house for Thanksgiving but I also wanted to make a turkey dinner here since I have never done it before...so I got the fixings for it and we will have leftovers for sandwiches...as I said yesterday I am going to eat a little of everything...not panic about everything but try to maintain my loss and not gain...but I am not going to deprive myself of the things I love because that will just make me want it more...and I will just need to add a little more exercise so I can maintain my weight.

This morning I got up and got out of here so fast that I didn't eat any breakfast...I know..bad me! I really didn't think about it. I came home and had a Smart Ones dinner, crackers and cheese and a granola bar:



Smart Ones = 5 points
All Bran Crackers = 2 points
Laughing cow cheese wedges = 1.5 points
Granola Bar (Oats and Peanut butter) = 3 points
Total points for Lunch = 11.5

Hello everyone...

I am still here...the weekend has come and almost gone and its been a busy one. Yesterday we took a nice drive as it was nice outside...did some errands and didn't get home until 2:30...and then we went to meet some friends for dinner. We had a great time! I haven't laughed so much in my whole life!! It was so nice to meet some new people and new friends. I can't say that I did very good on the eating front....and I will be back on track tomorrow and start posting my meals again...things will be crazy this week with the holiday but I think I am going to focus more on maintaining than losing this week.

I am not feeling so good today...there is alot of things going around and I feel like it might be sinus issues but it may be a cold coming on...always hard to tell with me...but I have 3 days to rest before Thanksgiving and I am very excited to spend it with Kristen and Kevin and her family.

We got home a little after midnight last night and didn't get to sleep until about 1:30 so I am a little tired...Kevin is sleeping in the living room...I can hear him snoring:) Kevin made me some scrambled eggs and bacon with some toast for breakfast:) I am drinking tons of water today as I haven't been doing that the last few days...
