Hello All...

As I told you yesterday I wouldn't be posting my meals today because I had to have gum surgery and knew that I may not be eating much. Please excuse me if some of what I am typing doesn't make sense...I am on some meds to help with the pain that make me a little loopy. I went in this morning at 8:00 and they started to procedure at 9:00 once the medicine (sedation) took effect. They had to do what they call crown lengthening which means they had to cut some of my gum away to expose more tooth so it can support the crown. But instead of just having to do that to the one tooth they had to reduce my gum on the whole right side of my upper mouth. It throbbed all afternoon until I took my pain meds the dentist gave me...and I hadn't eaten anything all day. I tried to eat some cottage cheese but chewing just hurt like heck...so Kevin went to Wendy's and got me a chocolate frosty..something I could just swallow and it was nice and cold...MAN that hit the spot!! So my stats of what I ate today is:

Wendy's chocolate frosty = 12 points
1/2 cup cottage cheese = 1.5 points
Prune juice = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY = 16.5

There is no way I will be able to eat anything else tonight...so my points will be way off today...not much I can do about it...I hope your all having a wonderful day!!

Meals for 9/7/09

Hello my friends! Another beautiful day here in Boston...I don't think its supposed to get as warm today but it will be nice! Today is a stay home and clean house and do laundry day. I am loving my cantaloupe I got at Costco on Saturday...nothing like sweet cantaloupe for breakfast. Here is what I had:
Cantaloupe = 1 point
WW Strawberry yogurt = 1 point
Banana Bread = 3 points
Water = 0 points
Total points for Breakfast = 5

Today was our weigh in...I lost .8 pounds and Kevin lost 5. I know my problem was not exercising like I should...but as I said before I was starting out with just changing my eating and now I will be starting my exercise along with it. I am happy with the loss...but wish I could have lost more...Kevin is doing really good:) We are enjoying his 4 day weekend together...tomorrow I go in for my gum surgery so I will be glad to get that over with...

I will be making tuna salad for lunch...tune in later to see....:)

********************
Hello there:) Spent the morning cleaning house, mopping floors and doing laundry...I got my workout for today! I was sweating as if I had been exercising for an hour! Then I made some tuna salad for something different for lunch. We picked up some tuna from Costco the other day. Here is what we had for lunch:

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
Tuna Salad = 2 points
Pretzels = 2 points
Sugar Free Chocolate pudding = 1 point
Water = 0 points
Total points for Lunch = 6 points

Afternoon Snack = Grapes = 1 point
Prunes = 1 point

Not much else going on today...looking forward to a nice relaxing afternoon...

For dinner I will be having leftover spaghetti from last night. Catch you all later!

********************
There is nothing like leftover spaghetti! The sauce absorbs into the noodles and it is more tasty! I had the same thing as last night...one slice of sourdough bread and milk...here are the stats:
Spaghetti and sauce = 8 points
Sourdough bread = 2
2 tsp butter = 2 points
Milk = 2 points
Total points for Dinner = 14

Dessert = Skinny Cow Chocolate Cone = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY = 30!

I am a little nervous about the dentist tomorrow...but I know it needs to be done and I will be a little sore and swollen for a few days...so if I don't post tomorrow its because I am knocked out on pain meds...LOL Hope you all have a great week! I will post as soon as I can!

Meals for 9/6/09

Hello everyone! Sorry for the late post. Kevin and I got up this morning and had our breakfast (pictured below) and then took off and drove to Revere Beach. It was a beautiful day, sunny but not hot and a cool breeze...perfect day! Here is what I had for breakfast:

Oroweat sandwich thins = 1 point
1 Tbsp jam = 1 point
2 slices center cut bacon = 2 points
Egg beaters = .5 point
Total points for Breakfast = 4.5
(I didn't eat all the eggs because I didn't like them much so I counted for 1/8 cup)

As I said Kevin and I went for a drive and I will be posting pictures and more on my other blog. For lunch we stopped at El Pollo Loco which is a low point place to go for most things. I had a soft taco and side of coleslaw. In checking Dottie's Weight loss Zone website here are the point values of each:
Soft Taco = 5.5 points
Side of Coleslaw = 5 points
Total points for lunch = 10.5

Stay tuned for dinner...Kevin is making spaghetti...we use dream fields pasta which is much better for diabetics and I actually like it more than regular pasta. It has more fiber and it only has 5 net carbs per serving. I will take a picture and post it later...:)

**********************
Hey there friends!! Kevin made his grandmothers spaghetti tonight for dinner and we have leftovers for tomorrow night!! :) I stopped at Panera Bread and got some fresh sourdough bread to go with it. I had one cup of spaghetti, 3/4 cup sauce and a slice of sourdough bread and milk! Sooo good!! I also stopped in at a Weight Watchers center in Revere and bought the new Comfort foods cookbook!! The one that my blog friend Heather has been talking about and telling us about the things she has tried and they looked so good!! I will let you all know the things I try:) Here is what I had for dinner:

Spaghetti and sauce = 8 points
Sourdough bread = 2
2 tsp butter = 2 points
Milk = 2 points
Total points for Dinner = 14

Evening dessert is Skinny Cow Chocolate cone = 3 points
Prune Juice (don't ask...LOL) = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY = 33

I think I did really good for this week. Most days I stuck to my daily points...and I only used 8.5 of my weekly allowance...leaving 26.5 points. As I said before its good to use some of those points especially for when you end up going out to eat...so I am very happy with my eating this week. Tomorrow is our weigh in day..wish us luck!! :)

Apple Crisps

Some of you might be wondering what the apple crisps are...they are fresh fruit that has been freeze dried and all water is removed from the fruit. It is 100% fresh fruit, no sugar added. They are made from fuji apples. At first it was a weird texture when I put it in my mouth...but then it changes its texture and its hard to describe...just yummy!! I took a picture of the bag and a few of them I took out of the bag. They are made by Brother-All-Natural and they have other fruits also. They have Pears, Strawberry & Banana and Pineapple. I haven't tried the Pineapple yet so I can't say how those taste. The Strawberry & Banana are really good mixed in yogurt or in cereal. They also have potato chips, however I didn't care for those.

They only have 39 calories, 0 fat and 2 grams of fiber(for the apple) = .05 points!! And it is 2 servings of fruit in one bag. I got them at Costco but you can also order them online. Hope you all try them...if you have a sweet tooth like I do it will do the trick!

Later friends! :)

Meals for 9/5/09

Hello everyone!! Happy Saturday!! It is beautiful here and I think its supposed to hit 80 today...but the rest of the week I think is supposed to be in the 70's...Kevin and I are getting ready to head out for some errands today. I had a low point breakfast in case we stop somewhere for lunch. I still have my weekly allowance left but I am going to try not to have to use too much of it. On days like this there is nothing like a nice cold refreshing salad...:) Here is my breakfast:

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
1 Tbsp red fat peanut butter = 2 points
Water = 0 points
Total points for Breakfast = 3

Free free to check out my other blog later today to see what we did today...I do a Saturday Cell Phone collage of what I do on Saturdays...and I will update with my lunch later...take care everyone! :)

*********************
I am back:) We decided to make today a short outing day and tomorrow we are going to take a drive to Newport. We went to Costco and picked up some yummy grapes, cantaloupe (all your fault TJ after seeing it on your blog recently I had to have some! LOL), Some Apple/Pear Crisps..very yummy sweet snack and only .5 points per packet! I also bought some Fiber One Blueberry muffin mix...each muffin is 3 points...thought it might make for a nice breakfast muffin:) And some Tuna fish to make some tuna salad for something different.

We ended up eating lunch at Cheesecake Factory. I know...your thinking why would you go there when your trying to lose weight...well we were at the mall and I know they have salads there...and they also have some weight management salads...I took a picture of the three salads on the menu:

I looked on Dottie's Weight Loss Zone who is a lifesaver if your counting points because she has hundreds of restaurants and she will put the cal/fat/fiber and WW points. For this salad it was 14 points!! However the Cheesecake Factory doesn't list fiber so it might be lower than that... I only ate about 1/3 of the salad because it was so huge..and only about 2 Tbsp of the dressing which was only 13 calories a serving and 0 fat...so I listed it as 7 points for my lunch just to be safe. I have NO idea what would make this salad so much points...it has lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts, chicken (not much but some), almonds, pea pods (I didn't find any in my salad) and some crunchy noodles...who knows. It wasn't the best and I wouldn't get it again....but it did the trick for a nice summer day:) Here is a picture of the salad...now keep in mind as I said I only ate 1/3 of the salad if that!

Weight Mgmt Asian Chicken Salad = 7 points (for what I ate)
2 pieces of wheat bread = 2.5
2 tsp of butter = 2 points
Total points for Lunch = 11.5 points

Afternoon snack = Banana Bread = 3 points

For dinner as a treat we are having some Domino's pizza. No worries..we are sharing a pizza and only having 2 slices which equal 10 points per the WW site. With Kevin eating so much better the last few weeks his sugar levels are doing really well! For those of you who don't know Kevin has Type 2 diabetes. This is another reason why we are trying to lose weight. Not only does he have it but my father has it too. I tend to follow in his footsteps in his aliments and so that is one that I am trying to avoid. We are going to do it this time...no question! I will be doing my weekly grocery shopping tomorrow and planning my meals for the week. Hope your all having a great weekend so far!! Check back later...:)

*********************
Hey there:) Spent the rest of the afternoon catching up on blogs and watching some TV...and I am about ready to get up and start cutting up some cantaloupe....can't wait!! :) I had my 2 slices of pizza...can't believe that it is only 10 points...and it was totally enough to fill me up! For dessert I will be having some grapes and I have .5 points left so I will be having one of my apple crisp things in between...:) Here is my dinner:

2 slices of Domino's pizza = 10 points
Apple Crisps = .5 points
Diet Pepsi = 0 points
Total points for Dinner = 11 points

Cantaloupe = 1 point
Grapes = 1 point

TOTAL POINTS USED FOR THE DAY = 30!

Have a great night everyone!! :)

Meals for 9/4/09

Good Morning friends...last night was a long night! I could not sleep! I was up until 1:30 and finally gave up and got on the computer for a little while. Finally went back to bed and eventually got back to sleep. I am thinking I might be eating too much of the sandwich thins...as much as I love them I took a break from them for breakfast. Here is what I had:
WW Blueberry Muffin = 3 points
Banana = 2 points
WW Berry yogurt = 1 point
Water = 0 points
Total points for Breakfast = 6 points

I haven't been doing the exercise I should be doing. I know that will affect my loss next week. I am trying to take one change at a time...I found out about a dog park not far from here...I am thinking of walking up there and checking it out with Riley. I think he would LOVE to just run free and play with other dogs. I am going to get moving and get some stuff done around the house. Ta Ta for now folks! :)

****************************
Hello!! It is that time of day again...just got back from taking Riley out for some personal business...and he met up with his girlfriend Zoey...a cute little dog his size. After spending time sniffing each other they started to play some..it is so cute to watch dogs interact and play together...it is a perfect day outside...sunny yet not muggy or HOT...just right! I think the weekend is supposed to be really nice as well. Today I decided to make a sandwich for lunch. I am starting to wonder if I am retaining water from all the frozen lunches I have been eating...I also had to add some prunes to my day...enough info there! LOL Here is my lunch today....

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
2 oz Roast Beef = 1 point
2 tsp mayo = 2 points
All Bran Crackers (18) = 2 points
Sugar free Chocolate pudding = 1 point
Grapes = 1 point
Water = 0 points
Total points for Lunch = 8 points

Afternoon Snack = 8 Prunes = 3 points

Tonight Kevin has to work late...month end stuff and he is taking a 4 day weekend so he needs to get some stuff done in order to have a long weekend. He is going to be taking me on Tuesday to have my gum surgery done...so that day won't be that much fun for him...but he will be taking care of me:) How did I ever get so lucky to have such a wonderful husband?? ;) I will be having leftover pork chops and applesauce for dinner...can you tell this is one of my favorite meals?? :) Later gators!

****************************
Hello there...spent the afternoon reading blogs, cleaning the kitchen and cleaning up around here...I am hoping that I sleep better tonight...I hate those nights when you just lay there and can't fall asleep. I think I just try to hard and that makes it worse...Anyway...I just had leftover pork chops, applesauce and stove top stuffing.
3 oz pork chop = 3 points
Applesauce = 1.5 points
Stove Top stuffing = 4 points
Green beans = 1 point
Total points for Dinner = 9.5

Evening snack = Banana bread = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY 29.5!

Have a great night everyone!!

I need help....

I have become addicted to blog reading...LOL. I have found several blogs that I have been reading and alot of them have to do with losing weight. It helps my motivation to see that others are struggling with the same things that I am. It really keeps me on track. I have met alot of wonderful friends on the blogs too!

Having just moved to Massachusetts 5 months ago I have met people online that live in New England and give me alot of really good ideas on things to do and see.

Today is kind of a blah day..woke up with a headache and just feel yucky...I think that I might be coming down with something. I can't seem to cool off. I have the AC on and I think the temperature outside is only in the 70's but I feel like I am roasting! I think I need to get up and get moving...get some stuff done.

Again thank you to all that have been leaving comments on my blogs...it really does keep me going and motivated...my husband is a wonderful support and my weight loss buddy also...I don't know what I would do without him:) Better get moving...check in later on my last post for my lunch and dinner....ta ta for now!

Meals for 9/3/09

Good Morning! I woke up at my normal time today...no sleeping in like yesterday! LOL Woke up with a bit of a sinus headache...could be I need to drink more water today...I hope everyone is having a great morning. I decided to change things up a little bit for breakfast. I bought some egg substitute yesterday so I had some scrambled eggs and sandwich thins with WW cream cheese and a Banana. I really want some carrots but I can't eat anything super hard because of my root canal that I had done a few weeks ago. I go in next Tuesday for my gum surgery and then after that heals I go back for the crown. Once that is done I will be able to eat hard stuff again...:) I suppose I could steam the carrots...but nah...I like them raw.:) Here is my breakfast:

1/2 cup Egg Substitute = 1 point
Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
WW Cream cheese = 1 point
Banana = 2 points
Water = 0 points
Total points for Breakfast = 5

Check back later for lunch...I am going to go and get some stuff done...catch y'all later!

****************************
Hello:) I am feeling a little better this afternoon...even though it isn't very hot today the apartment has been stuffy and warm and I found out they were working on the AC and that is why it wasn't cooling down in here...but it seems to be working now:) I always like it a little cooler. If I had the choice of being hot or cold I will take cold any day...I know...most of you are thinking..."you just wait!" Because fall and winter are coming soon...:) Here is what I had for lunch today:) Except instead of the yogurt I had Sugar free Chocolate pudding cup...

Smart Ones Fettucini Alfredo = 4 points
18 All Bran Crackers = 2 points
1/2 cup 1% fat cottage cheese = 1.5 points
Sugar Free Jell-o chocolate pudding cup = 1 point
Water = 0 points
Total points for Lunch = 8.5

Afternoon snack: Banana Bread = 3 points

I know it seems like we have alot of the same things...and we do. I am going to start experimenting more and making some new things soon. We are still getting used to the new "weigh" of eating so it will take some time. Tonight we are having pork chops and applesauce again...:)

Meals for 9/2/09

Hello there my friends! Today I had a late start! I didn't sleep that well last night. My husband usually calls me from work at 9:00 and usually I am awake but still in bed..this morning he was really busy at work and didn't call me. I woke up and the clock said 9:45!! I was like WHAT?? LOL

I got up and took a shower and ate some breakfast and took off to the grocery store. I needed to get my sugar (splenda) to make the banana bread and some cottage cheese and a few other staples. I am feeling a bit blah today...Kevin is working his long day...the day when he usually works until 8-9:00 pm because its month end. I had a repeat breakfast....here it is:

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
1 Tbsp ref fat peanut butter = 2 points
Banana = 2 points
WW Berry yogurt = 1 point
Water = 0 point
Total points for Breakfast = 6

Now my schedule is a little behind today...at lunch at 10:00am so now I am not hungry for lunch and its almost 1:00...oh well I will eat around 2 and have dinner around 6...:) Check back later gators!

**********************
I'm back....:) I ended up having leftovers from last night...but only had about 3 oz of chicken instead of 4 and less gravy...and a sugar free chocolate pudding cup...I didn't take a picture because I posted a picture last night...

Chicken & Gravy w/green beans = 7 points
Sugar free chocolate pudding = 1 point
Total Points for Lunch = 8 points

As we speak I have the banana bread in the oven and it smells sooooooo good! My afternoon snack will be grapes. Tonight we will be having BLT's as Kevin will be home for dinner:) Doesn't have to work too late!! YAY!!

**********************
Hello all..I lied...my afternoon snack ended up being the banana bread...after smelling it baking in the oven I had to have a nice warm slice:) For dinner we had another repeat dinner...Kevin is working a little late so I made the bacon for BLT's and the baked fries and Kevin will warm up the bacon in the microwave when he gets home. I did something different this time. Instead of cooking the bacon on the stove top and getting burnt from the splatter I baked it in the oven. I saw it online and thought I would try it. It worked perfectly!! No mess and it did come out flat which is easier to eat on a sandwich. Here is a picture I took the last time I made it...:)

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
4 slices center cut bacon = 2.5 points
Tomato = 0 points
Lettuce = 0 points
3 tsp mayo = 3
Oreda baked fries = 2 points
Total points for Dinner = 8.5 points

My evening dessert will be Skinny Cow Vanilla cone & another slice of Banana bread...I realize this makes me go over my daily points by 1.5...however it is good to do that every once and a while to keep your body guessing. They give you an extra 35 weekly points that they encourage you to use. I usually save them in case I go out to dinner or want something high in points. But this banana bread is worth going over by 2!

Skinny Cow Vanilla cone = 3 points
Banana Bread = 3 points
Banana Bread = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY = 31.5

Meals for 9/1/09

Wow!! It is September already??? Soon the leaves will be changing and all the fall colors will come out. That is kind of exciting being it will be my first "fall" here in New England! The view from our apartment has alot of trees and they will probably turn colors as well...we are looking forward to taking some drives so I can get some beautiful pictures of the changes. I would love some advise from all you New Englanders on where to go and when the best time to go is....:)

On to my breakfast...I saw on Lynn's blog peanut butter toast with sliced banana's and it looked so good! So I gave it a try this morning with some WW Strawberry yogurt on the side. It was really good! Elvis used to make fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches...I bet that would be good too...but "fried" isn't on my menus these days! Here is my picture:

Oroweat Sandwich Thins = 1 point
Banana = 2 points
WW Strawberry Yogurt = 1 point
1 Tbsp red fat peanut butter = 2 points
Total Points for Breakfast = 6

It is another beautiful day expected to be in the 70's...I can handle the 70's. It is when it is above 80 that it starts to get too hot to me. I guess I need to get used to the higher temps...LOL. Come back later to see what I have for lunch. Catch y'all later!

*************************
Hello everyone...I have been busy this morning washing my bed linens and I was going to make my banana bread but found I don't have any sugar:( Since we moved I haven't bought any...they wouldn't move anything that was opened so I had to leave the sugar behind. So I will go to the store tomorrow and pick some up and some cottage cheese that I forgot last weekend. Today for lunch I had a repeat meal...I am using the picture from that other meal because it is the same and I didn't take a picture of it this time...the only difference is I had a Diet Pepsi with it instead of water and then I had grapes for a mid afternoon snack...here ya go:

Smart Ones Steak & Ranch Grilled flat bread = 6 points
Snyders 100 calorie pack of pretzel sticks = 2 points
Diet Pepsi = 0 points
Grapes (afternoon snack) = 1 point
Total Points for Lunch and snack = 9 points

For dinner I am making one of our favorite dinners that I found in a cookbook that we use alot. It is Fried Chicken & Gravy....how can you eat fried chicken & gravy and keep it low in points? Check back later and I will show you:)

*************************
Hey there...I saw in my comments that you were all looking forward to my dinner menu...fried chicken and gravy. The recipe is for 6 servings but I only make 2. It is the best chicken & gravy recipe I have found for being on WW. For just the chicken and gravy it is 5 points. Here is the picture...

Chicken & gravy = 5 points
1/3 cup instant potatoes = 4 points
Green Beans = 0 points
Milk = 2 points
Total points for dinner = 11 points

Here is the recipe for the Chicken & Gravy

6 (4 oz) Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1/2 cup Evaporated Skim Milk
1/2 cup chicken broth

Mix the flour, paprika, thyme, salt & pepper in a large baggie. Rinse and dry chicken. Put chicken in baggie to coat with flour mixture. Save the remaining flour mixture. Heat oil in pan. Cook chicken 8-10 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink inside. Put remaining flour mixture in a medium bowl. Whisk in the Evaporated skim milk and then the chicken broth. When chicken is done drain excess oil from pan and discard. Pour the gravy into the hot pan. Whisk it as it will thicken quickly. Serve gravy over chicken (I splurge a little and add some to my mashed potatoes too...keeps me from having to add butter to my potatoes)

I will be having a whole fruit strawberry bar for dessert and 2 WW chocolate chip cookies to complete my points for the day...as I said before you should always eat all of your points or your body won't drop the weight...:)

Whole fruit Strawberry bar = 1 point
WW Chocolate Chip Cookies = 3 points

TOTAL POINTS FOR THE DAY = 30!

Goodnight everyone!!
